8 AR-P.MARETags : Aerodynamic configurations Aerodynamic characteristics, Afterbodies Drag Fighter aircraft Index. décimale : 363.124 Risques dans les transports : Transports aérien et spatial Résumé : Aircraft afterbody design is still one of the most critical problems for industry, especially in fighter aircraft development. The flow around the rear part of the fuselage is characterized by the simultaneous occurence of interfering physical phenomena such as thick turbulent boundary layers, viscious flow separation, hot jet interference at the base and the boat tail, and jet plume expansion in three_dimensional transonic and supersonic flow. Even experimental techniques hardly fulfill requirements for correct wind tunnel simulation of all effects. Note de contenu : appendix : experimentation data base AGARD Advisory Report. However, to reduce airframe manufacting cost aircraft manufacters are converting to parts machined from thick plate. The result of recent research indicates that forgings often offer significant adventages over components machined from plate. The purpose of this report is to present this information. The report recommends the Internet as the most suitable vehicle for this and describes a prototype International Aerospace Infomation Network (IAIN) Homepage whiwh was developed by the group for use as a Proof of Concept. In this prototype Homepage; which is intended to be a limited version of the finished network, several connections have been made to information sources as a demonstration of the concept and the capability that would be inherent in the final stage.AGARD Advisory Report. The automotive industry has spent considerable effort in designing crash test dummies that are biofidelic; i.e.,dummies that duplicate the properties of a representative human subject on which injury risk is to be assessed.
