The purpose of this symposium was to provide a forum to identify and discuss the elements that contribute to the increased time and cost development, and to explore the question of what can be donbe to arrest and reverse the trend. |

Nevertheless, most agree that continued exploitation of emerging technologies is needed by NATO to maintain a qualitative lead, and that continued progress in mecroelectronics and information processing offers opportunities for NATO to maintain its technical superiority. |

| Tags : | Work measurement Pilots Performance evaluation | Index. décimale : | 363.124 Risques dans les transports : Transports aérien et spatial | Résumé : | Whether one is attempting to reduce workload in the cockpit of a combat aircraft to improve mission effectiveness, or to optimise workload levels on the flight deck of a civil airliner to improve safety, it is important to be able to assess workload in practical terms. In the case of the civil transport aircraft the findings of the President's Task Force on Crew Complement have underlined the need to assess workload in flight reliably in order to satisfy certification requirements for new aircraft. |

Through different chapters, a variety of related topics were discussed in relation to the current status and approaches to aircraft accident/incident investigation, taking into account the human factors involved, procedures, categorization, tabulation and analysis. In addition; following a questionnaire whiwh was widely distributed among all NATO countries, current data concerning the number of accidents, human factors studies, organizational aspects and the data collection were compiled and discussed. |
